Our software is licensed through the internet, and so it is necessary that your Antivirus software and/or Companies security does not restrict access to reach our licensing server. We have compiled this list of the information that is needed to convey to your Information Technology (IT) professional in order to troubleshoot when there is a problem using the software. Here are the normal steps to follow:
1) Download the latest version of the software by clicking here.
2) After downloading, right click the downloaded file and select "Run as Administrator". (You must be logged in as an administrator on the computer in order to complete this step.)
- You may install in Single Windows User Install Mode which does not require Administrator right to install (however you need to ensure that .net 4.8 or newer is install and MS Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable is already installed on the PC.
3) The antivirus needs to have an exclusion.
- There are countless different antivirus applications, and it is not possible for us to summarize the steps to add an exclusion for every possibility. Please go to google.com and search "{Antivirus software name} exclusion", and you should be able to find the steps required for adding an exclusion for the Meca Software.
- For example, if you were installing MecaWind you would want to add an exclusion for the folder c:\Program Files (x86)\MecaWind. The same is true of MecaStack and MecaLug, just change the path accordingly.
4) Enter each of the following in a web browser address, and you should get "The following operations are supported..." back for each address. If you don't then something is blocking and you will need to determine what is blocking. This isn't something Meca can solve, it requires your IT person to determine what is blocking access to these URL's.
