The old MecaWind exclusively used the rtf format, and it worked pretty well.  The problem was that many customers wanted to pdf format.  We found that rtf and pdf formats did not work well together; therefore, we had to switch to an html format in order to produce a pdf.  We later added the rtf option, but the formatting is not good and there isn't a simple way for us to make it good.  The best suggestion we can make is that if you want to export to a native format that you want to be able to manipulate, then use html.  Open the html format in a tool that recognizes it, such as Microsoft Word, and then you should have a little better success.  The html format may not be perfect either, it's difficult to get a format that is going to look great in all formats (MecaWind Output screen, pdf, html and rtf).
